What to Expect

When you are searching for an equine veterinary care clinic, you should expect high-quality care as well as great service. At Alpine Equine, our team of veterinary professionals strives to provide the best possible healthcare for your horses at our state-of-the-art equine veterinary facility, along with exceptional client service.

We believe your horse should have a wellness exam at-least once a year depending on their age and discipline and pre-existing health conditions. By being proactive with your horse’s health, you will be able to avoid more serious problems in the future. This visit includes a full physical examination, a brief soundness check and fecal sampling for parasite analysis.  Your horse’s health history is important to us. We offer all inclusive packages that offer substantial savings for those owners who wish to consider packaged health care for their horses.

In order for the exam to provide the best possible information, your horse’s cooperation is essential. Most horses that have good manners and are comfortable being handled by people do well during a wellness exam. That said our team is adept at handling horses that are stressed and will work to keep them at ease during their exam.  Safety for you and your horse is important to us during their examination procedures.

Changes to your horse’s health can often be so small that they go unnoticed. To assist us in identifying potential problems, keep a regular journal of your horse’s health problems, including changes in behavior, eating habits, urination patterns and bowel movements. Be sure to share this information with us during the routine wellness exam. This journal is also a good place to make note of any health conditions experienced by your horse and the treatments used.

Alpine Equine Hospital staff members are committed to easing the stress of your horse’s healthcare visit. Our doctors will also explain all the procedures that your horse undergoes, so you understand what to expect.  We feel that our focus on client communication and education helps ensure your horses health and wellbeing.

In some circumstances, we may refer you to a local or front range dental or surgical specialist depending on your horse's specific needs.  When needed, we will closely coordinate a referral, so your horse receives the best possible care.

Here at Alpine Equine we look forward to providing your horse with the unique lifelong care that it deserves.
